Twinkle ("we", "our", or "us") is a video-sharing and creator monetization platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the Twinkle mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated automatically when you use the Service:

• Account information: name, email address, username, and profile photo when you sign up or update your profile.
• Sign-in credentials: We support Apple Sign-In and email/password authentication. We do not store Apple passwords; Apple handles authentication directly.
• Content you upload: videos, reels, thumbnails, captions, and category selections.
• Payment information: If you connect a Stripe account to receive payouts or purchase an ad-free subscription, Stripe processes and stores your financial details. We do not store full payment card numbers.
• Usage data: views, likes, watch time, and interactions used to personalise your feed and calculate creator earnings.
• Device and log data: device type, operating system, IP address, and crash reports, collected to maintain and improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide, operate, and improve the Twinkle Service.
• Authenticate your identity and secure your account.
• Calculate and process creator earnings and payouts via Stripe Connect.
• Personalise your video feed and content recommendations.
• Send notifications about new content from creators you follow.
• Display relevant advertisements (unless you have purchased an ad-free subscription).
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. Advertising and Tracking

The Twinkle app uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalised ads. On iOS 14.5 and later, we request App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission before any cross-app tracking occurs. You may opt out at any time in your device settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking.

If you purchase the ad-free subscription, advertising SDKs are disabled for your session.

4. Video Storage and Streaming

Videos you upload are stored securely using Mux (a professional video hosting service) and Replit Object Storage. Mux processes videos for adaptive-bitrate streaming and generates thumbnails. Mux's own privacy policy governs their handling of your content.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: Mux (video hosting), Stripe (payments), Google (advertising and analytics), Sentry (error tracking). Each provider is bound by a data processing agreement.
• Other users: Your profile, username, and uploaded videos are visible to other users of the Service by default.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and uploaded content for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the app settings, which will remove your profile and videos from public view. Some data may be retained for up to 90 days in backups before permanent deletion.

7. Children's Privacy

The Twinkle Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure credential storage, and access controls. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
